Our Rich Culture at Ahhh Ras Natango Gallery and Garden Tour, Jamaica. Ahhh… highlights our culture and way of life. The most valuable asset in our culture and heritage is indeed our people. Our motto says it best ”Out of many one people.” Over 90% of our population is descendants of African slaves. Indentured workers from India and China along with other nationalities make up the other percentages.

The language spoken is English and broken English. (Patois)

Our people are friendly by nature. Historians describe Jamaica as the land of wood and water. The many rivers and streams coming out of the mountains to the sea.  Being in the Tropics, the climate is beautiful all year round, with our rainy seasons in May and October.

Tropical Flowers and birds abound.  At Ahhh.. Ras Natango Gallery and Garden, our visitors get the chance to experience the magnificent vistas, the garden, our local food as well as the art and crafts of our island. If you are here on a day cruise or a stop over visitor in a hotel, visiting Ahhh is a perfect way to experience the true Jamaican culture.

The art and crafts compliment the vibrant colors seen daily on our island. For those persons who are birders, Ahhh… is home to more than 18 of Jamaica’s endemic birds and during the months of September through May migratory birds, called winter birds are also in our garden. We encourage relationship with staff and visitors as we feel the exchange of cultures through discussions and sharing ideas is vital to the continued growth of our attraction.

Food is seasonal, for example during breadfruit season this is roasted and served to our guests who order a meal. Ackee and salt fish, which is our National Dish, is available also in season. Natural juices are also seasonal. Guava, sour sop, cherry, passion fruit, Jamaican apple.
